lumpy time

  1. build a light meter that will fire a frame after receiving an appropriate amount of light
  2. shoot things with movement we know well
  3. watch the movement changes with the amount of light

I’m building a prototype sequence now. I want to see what it would do in the following situations:

  • a bright sunny day with clouds occasionally blocking the sun (Monument Valley?)
  • watching a bus stop or an intersection as evening approaches
  • blurry passing cars illuminating something in the foreground
  • two exposure periods, one in the day, the other at night
  • brightly lit people passing under a bridge or a tree (shade slows them down or makes them disappear)
  • a young plant going blurry in the evening with all the whipping around
cinematography notes pinhole projects raw time work
