B-Movie
Five scenes from a monster movie that was never shot — the bombers droning in over the water, the creature reared up in the rain, the crowd scattering in its lit circle, a night train fleeing into the dark, and a last ripple where something is about to arrive. What links them is not a plot but a manner: the grain, the hard contrast, the dread of the genre, a whole cinematic apparatus worn as a surface. Put the beats in order and the coating does the storytelling. None of the production it implies — no suit, no miniature, no set, no strip of stock — ever happened.
